"David Cunningham's musical credentials are well established, covering a broad range of accomplishments within his extensive career, from hit singles in the late '70s with The Flying Lizards to experimental work alongside Steve Beresford, David Toop and Michael Nyman (on his scores for Peter Greenaway). Cunningham even teamed up with lightswitch-loving Turner Prize winner Martin Creed for the band project, Owada. Composer and saxophonist Yasuaki Shimizu is something of a legend in certain circles, applying his distinctive voice to recordings by Ryuichi Sakamoto, Bill Laswell and The Orb. For this album the two artists explore experimental textures taking guitar and sax as starting points, firing up a slew of effects and processing units along the way. One of the most exciting pieces here is 'Why Me?', for which Shimizu takes to the piano, his rapid strokes matching the motorised delays on Cunningham's guitar."
