mp3 / 320 / 83mb / rs | rel. apr 06

listening to this one tonight after work. a great companion while browsing todays news and just chilling a bit. what happened to the great Lampse label btw, some terrific releases 2005-2006, and then it just faded out. so promising. website doesn't say anything..

ah well, enjoy a great album! here's some info from the label:

"Pofigistka is the first physical release for the Russian duo of Alexey Devyanin and Dmitry Garin. Gultskra Artikler are already somewhat famed for their contributions to the netlabel scene with tracks appearing from the same stable as the wonderful Marsen Jules. This extended EP offers four original tracks as well as four exclusive remixes (one for each track) from Lampse operatives Machinefabriek and Marcus Fjellstrom and also Type's Svarte Greiner (one half of the mysterious Deaf Center) and Xela (the Type Records label boss himself).

The four Gultskra Artikler tracks were recorrded live with no overdubs, which creates an intimate atmosphere allowing the smoley jazz and ethnic feel to unfold. Cascading guitars, ethnic sounds and bubbling synthesizer drones are thrown in the mix with the utmost of care and attention resulting in a delicate and warming selection.

The four remixes further expand upon this ranging from guitar-driven folk (Xela), sound design exercises (Fjellström) and cinematic textures (S. Greiner) to epic build-ups of noise textures (Machinefabriek)."
