"After performing together with Harold Budd in 2005, ex-Ultravox man and electro pioneer John Foxx and Cocteau Twins legend Robin Guthrie decided that it might be rewarding to attempt something more studio based. The result of their collaboration is 'Mirrorball' which pits Guthrie's characteristic shimmering guitar against often improvised dramatic vocals from Foxx. With beats occasionally removed altogether 'Mirrorball' ranges from beautiful, washed out ambience of the title track to the early Cocteau Twins thud of 'Sunshower' but the unique contributions of each party are always clearly evident. It might not have the cold-wave tingle of 'Metamatic' or the gauzy beauty of 'Head Over Heels', but 'Mirrorball' is still a rewarding listen. Recommended." -boomkat
